MHI vs AGT
Material:
The OEM "MHI 10.5" evo turbine housings have proved to work very well for upgrades and power way beyond their original design. But has some limits. Typically the OEM cast material, while has proven very robust, but still fatigues and cracks.
We chose to go with a 310 Stainless steel that has a high nickel content for ultimate Durability, crack resistance, and corrosion resistance.
Flow:
This was one of the many driving factors behind this housing. The OEM housing offers a Twinscroll Design that works very well for Spool, but the internal size of the housing tends to limit these turbos. Especially our Largest offering, the 62mm and 64mm
We have made this housing Single Scroll, and enlarged the AR of the housing from the factory 10.5cm2 (evo X is 12cm) to ours is 13cm2. or in other terms went from 0.77 AR for evo 8/9 (OEM Evo X 0.89 AR) to our 0.96 AR
Making for a significant increase in flow, decrease in back pressure. Enabling our turbos to reach their full potential and only at the cost of some additional lag
Install:
The last key feature is ease of install, when purchasing an AGT turbo with housing on it. It retains all of the factory bolt-on features. OEM manifold flange, OEM 02 housing/downpipe flange, turbo placement, and Internal wastegate system
This allows for a 100% Bolt-on application in place of the factory turbo
No special downpipe or anything required
